MICTTD through the Marine Division (SAR Unit) is committed to preserving the safety of life on the land and waters subject to the jurisdiction of Kiribati. In order to fulfil this commitment, SAR Unit within the Marine Division needs to fulfil the three commitment goals below;
- To gain and maintain public confidence in the search and rescue services in Kiribati.
- To deliver timely, efficient and effective, search and rescue services.
- To promote cooperation among providers of search and rescue services in Kiribati and with our regional search and rescue partners.
Services: To deliver timely, efficient and effective, search and rescue services to people who are in distress within the Kiribati waters.
