Marine Division is under the Ministry of Information, Communications, Transport and Tourism Development (MICTTD) responsible for (Mission) providing professional, quality, and impartial advice and services to the shipping industry, maritime training and maritime labour organizations, in compliance with IMO, ILO Conventions and the Codes.
Kiribati Marine Division is committed to providing a level of service to all clients that consistently meets or exceeds their expectations. We will constantly review service performance with a view to maintaning consistent quality improvement.
- Ensure meeting all objectives and requirements noted in the various IMO, ILO conventions and Codes.
- Do its utmost effort to successfully complete IMSAS audit Corrective Action Plans.
- Do its utmost effort to successfully implement National Maritime Transport Policy.
- Do its utmost effort to successfully implement safety standard in domestic shipping.
- Constantly review service performance with a view to maintaining consistent quality improvement.
- Always clearly define and scope the level of services to be provided to clients.
- Always seek to present an image of total professionalism in all contacts with clients or potential clients.
- Operate at all times with integrity, and in the best interests of assisting each client to improve their operations and achieve required objectives.
- Provide an environment for openness through effective communication at all levels, and avenues for participative decision making.
Marine Division is committed to continuous development and improvement of the quality management system. In that order the Marine Division Management has set the quality objectives and policy and ensures necessary resources.
